Angelbird Card Reader PKT CFexpress B

The Angelbird Card Reader PKT CFexpress B is a compact, high-performance memory card reader designed for photographers, filmmakers and content creators who need fast, reliable access to their files wherever their work takes them.

Combining USB-C connectivity with transfer bandwidth of up to 20Gb/s, this pocket-sized reader makes it easy to offload large image files and video footage, manage media and streamline post-production workflows. Its lightweight design and protective features make it an ideal companion for professionals working both in the studio and on location.

Fast USB-C Data Transfers

Featuring USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 connectivity with bandwidth of up to 20Gb/s, the Angelbird Card Reader PKT is designed to deliver fast transfers from compatible CFexpress Type B memory cards.

Spend less time waiting for files to copy and more time reviewing, organising and editing your footage. The reader also supports compatible direct-from-card workflows, allowing you to access media without first copying every file to your computer’s internal storage.

Actual transfer speeds depend on the memory card, host device and system configuration.

Physical Write Protection for Added Data Security

An integrated LED write-protect switch allows you to activate read-only mode, helping prevent accidental file deletion or formatting while accessing or backing up important footage.

This is a particularly useful feature for professionals handling valuable production media, where protecting original files during transfers and backups is essential.

Compact Design with Protective PKT Cap

Designed for portability, the Card Reader PKT measures approximately 70 × 45.5 × 9.5mm and weighs just 50g. It fits easily into a camera bag, equipment case or pocket, making it convenient for travel and mobile production workflows.

The removable PKT Cap encloses the reader and inserted media, providing additional physical protection and helping guard against accidental removal or interference while the reader is being transported.

Solid Connect USB-C Connection

Angelbird’s Solid Connect™ design features a recessed USB-C port within the reader’s housing. This helps protect the connection and reduce cable wear, providing a secure interface for regular professional use.

The reader is supplied with a 32cm USB-C cable and is USB bus-powered, so no separate power supply is required.

CFexpress 2.0 and 4.0 Compatibility

The reader supports both CFexpress 2.0 and CFexpress 4.0 Type B memory cards, making it suitable for a range of compatible professional cameras and media workflows.

It is compatible with macOS, Windows, iOS, iPadOS, Linux and Android devices. Although it can connect physically to Thunderbolt 3, 4 and 5 host devices, it operates at USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 speeds rather than Thunderbolt speeds.

Please note that XQD memory cards are not supported.
